Our trees will be available for sale from 25th November but we always sell out as we have regular customers who come back to us year after year. If you would like one of our fine trees we recommend you visit us early and reserve it, we will then keep it for you until you are ready to collect or alternatively allow us to arrange delivery within a 10 mile radius of our nursery. Please read below for details of the three main varieties of trees we stock... The Noble tree is our top quality tree. It is a low needle drop tree with a dark green foliage. The needles are roughly 4-sided (similar to spruce), over 1 inch long, bluish-green but appearing silver because of 2 white rows of stomata on the underside and 1-2 rows on the upper surface. The needles are generally twisted upward so that the lower surface of branches are exposed. The bows are great for hanging decorations and the foliage is so beautiful it is often used for wreaths and garlands.

The Nordmann tree is now Britains favourite tree. It is the best value low needle drop tree around. Its foliage is incredibly soft so won't hurt little fingers. It has a slightly more green foliage than the Noble above and can be slightly less dense. The leaf of the Nordmann fir has flattened needles, which are shiny and very dark green above and silvery blue below. They're blunt or notched at the end, and clustered and dense on the upper surface of the twig.
The Norway spruce is the 'traditional' christmas tree in Britain. It doesn't have the same needle retention properties and needs a little more care than the Noble and Nordmann trees. They are however the cheapest tree to buy this christmas and also suit houses where less space is available. For a traditional christmas choose a Norway spruce. |
